Week 93 - Miami, Oklahoma

"Not 'Aliens,' 'Elders'!" - a guy to his daughter when we first met them

Hey all!

Speed round this week because I wanna go play some sports with the other Elders but I ain't 'boutta skip a week this far into the mish:

Hazel's back! She watched a session of General Conference with us and absolutely loved it. Gotta get her a doctor's note for the coffee thing but she's still doing great.

Speaking of the Church's general conference, it rocked. Like holy cow. All five sessions had such inspiring Christ-centered messages. I love getting a little reminder every six months that the Paul wasn't joking when he said the Lord would build His Church on apostles and prophets (Ephesians 2:19-22).

I had so many favorite messages, but one I'd like to share this week is called “'Draw Near unto Me'” by President Henry B. Eyring, an Apostle who serves as one of the counselors to the prophet. Here's his message:

Last but not least, Flagstaff AZ temple! Let's go! I was so excited when I heard the announcement. I've really wanted to live in Flagstaff after finishing school for awhile now, and that's one more great reason to do so. Big W.

Song of the week: Hymn #1027 "Welcome Home"

Cool BYU devotional: "The Power of Not Knowing" by Liz Wiseman. Latter-day Saint mom and early morning seminary teacher who also, y'know, is the founder and CEO of her own firm and casually advises Fortune 500 companies.

Love y'all!

Elder Rigby
