Week 94: He's back, Ceb - Miami, Oklahoma

πŸŽ΅ Come a little bit closer

Come a little bit closer, you're my kind of plant
So green and so small πŸŽ΅

Hey all! Let's just jump right into it, shall we?

πŸͺ΄ Went to a plant swap at the library to try and meet some new friends who'd want to join us on Easter Sunday and I somehow won a raffle for a free plant and got a "pink panther" inchplant. Not sure who's gonna catch the PokΓ©mon reference but it's basically just the shiny version of the other inchplant I already have haha. But hey, it's got a good name. Speaking of good names, while we didn't end up finding anyone who wanted to join us for church, I brought some of my own lil leafy guys along just for kicks and ended up coming home with a flapjack, a bachelor button, a pencil cactus, four tiny dog tail cacti, and a "wandering dude." Peep the Google photos for the succulent garden: https://photos.app.goo.gl/2sk1refRidSszyYk7

πŸ• Twenty months ago, my trainer and I were able to be part of our friend Luis' baptism into the Church of Jesus Christ. Unfortunately, he had some pretty complicated life circumstances, and by the end of the year he'd moved and stopped attending church regularly. However, a few days ago day I hopped on Facebook messenger for one of the few times that whole week, and within the minute I planned to be on it, he saw my username and called me up saying that he really missed church and was wondering what he could do to get a temple reccomend again! Not only that, but he was back in Arkansas again in the area of the assistants to the mission president, both of whom are super cool. One of them is actually a Spanish missionary too! So many little random things came together to remind me that the Lord never forgets His covenant children. There's always a way back.

🌊 Marvin's going to be baptized tomorrow! He gave us all his coffee stuff last week like it was no biggie, but we felt prompted to give him a bag of Beaver Nuggets from Bucees so it'd be a fair trade haha. Please pray for him and that his baptismal service will be powerful tomorrow!

πŸ₯΄ "Awkward for Jesus" - best description of missionary work I've heard yet

πŸ‘¬ One of my old comps and I reconciled this week and it was real cool. Sure feels good to be pals again.

🏫🌊Our friend Galatia who we found at the college campus just got baptized in the Joplin YSA branch! She's the best.

πŸ–Ό There's an exhibit up at the BYU Museum of Art featuring one of my favorite gospel artists, Brian Kershisnik. Unfortunately, it's over in about a month or so, so I won't get to see it in person, but if y'all are in the area then please go check it out for me! His work and his perspective on the Gospel are both so cool. So uh...postcard? πŸ˜³πŸ‘‰πŸ‘ˆ

Thought: Matthew 25:40

And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.

Elder Kearon's General Conference message two weekends ago prompted me to really reconsider the simple ideas we hear over and over again. This one stood out to me. Consider what would happen if every one of our actions really was taken with these words of the Savior in mind? What simple, often-overlooked truths do you want to internalize more deeply?

I'd love to hear your thoughts whenever. I'm finally caught up on letters and almost caught up on emails, so reach out and I'll get back to you in a Wednesday or two!

Love,
Elder Rigby
